From 02 – 15 October in various locations across Manchester city centre, including Great Northern, Journeys Festival International Manchester proudly presents a collaborative arts project between British Turner prize nominee Mark Titchner and United for Change, a refugee and asylum seeker led advocacy group.
Over the last three months, Mark has worked closely with refugee and asylum seeker artists at creative workshops, facilitated by Pathway Arts. Together they have created artworks that contain personal messages of the refugee experience. How do these messages differ to what you normally hear? Or normally see? Visually striking and text based, these art works give a voice and visibility to this community, presented in large scale artworks across the city.
You can see one of these fabulous pieces at Great Northern.
