This December, St John’s Gardens will be transformed into a serene sanctuary as The Christie Charity unveils its Garden of Hope, a glowing installation created to honour loved ones whose lives have been touched by cancer.
Opening on Saturday 6th December at 5pm, the Garden of Hope brings together hundreds of pre-lit white roses, each carrying a personal message of love or remembrance. The result is a luminous tribute in the heart of the city, a stone’s throw from Great Northern, offering visitors a gentle moment of reflection during the festive rush. From Sunday 7th to Sunday 21st December, the installation will be open daily from 3pm to 8pm for anyone wishing to pause, remember or simply appreciate the peaceful atmosphere.
Supporters can dedicate a rose with a suggested donation of £20, either by pre-ordering online or in person at the event. Messages can be added personally or with the help of the team, and every dedication includes a Christmas tree rose decoration to take home. All funds raised will support The Christie’s Total Body PET CT scanner appeal, with the option to direct donations to other areas of the charity’s work.
