Calling all theatre enthusiasts! Great Northern is set to play host to Manchester’s first rep theatre in 50 years.
The Northern Rep team has been busy renovating the space previously occupied by Junkyard Golf, opening its doors for a limited time from the 6th March.
The theatre will be open permanently in May 2017. The first production a radical club land reimagining of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The Director of Northern Rep, Thomas Moore, said:
“The opportunity to bring rep theatre back to Manchester after an absence of over 50 years is such an honour. There is no place better in the country than Manchester for theatre at the moment and there is no place in Manchester better than Great Northern Warehouse to bring our vision of a vibrant and exciting theatre to the people Manchester.
“We’ve been working with the owners of the historic Great Northern Warehouse over the past four months to find the perfect space to realise our plans.
“Don’t expect a traditional theatre going experience where you’re stuck in your seat for two hours. Northern Rep is going to start a riot and we need you!”
