Greater Manchester has produced more than its fair share of icons.
The region has long been the backdrop to game-changing artists, innovators, sportspeople, actors and activists.
And now, we’re looking to celebrate the achievements of the greatest northerners of all time by installing a gallery of portraits right here in the Great Northern.
We’re working with renowned artist, Stan Chow, who will create portraits of ten great northerners – all we need to do is decide on that ten, which is where we need your help!
To fit the criteria, your suggestion needs to be anyone who has lived, worked, or affected change in the Greater Manchester area.
