Labour of Love is a photographic journey into the businesses of Chorlton and the people that drive them. Starting in May 2024, the project gained momentum as photographer Jon Aspinall engaged more and more with familiar faces from the community.
This year Jon began re-engaging with the subjects in order to furnish each image with its own detailed story/biog based on both the business’s and individual’s journey. He developed it further by establishing it as its own brand with its own logo, webpage (labouroflovechorlton.co.uk) and Instagram account (@labouroflovechorlton).
Labour of Love appeared as part of Chorlton Arts Festival in May, before becoming a solo exhibition at The Carlton Club in July-August 2025. On Friday 24th October the exhibition launches in 275 Deansgate, Great Northern, where it will run for a week.

Monday 27th – Friday 31st 6pm – 9pm
