On June 21st, International Yoga day, Great Northern’s The Life Centre North is organising Manchester’s first Yogathon for Mental Health at Great Northern Square, Deansgate. The event aims to bring together devotees of yoga and complete novices in an activity which is open to all ages and abilities, to raise money for a great cause. Classes will run from 5pm to 9pm on a drop-in basis and will cater to all levels.
The event is taking place on Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year and the United Nations officially recognised International Day of Yoga and will bring together the best and brightest of Manchester’s yoga community including One Yoga’s Andrea Everingham and Lululemon ambassador Zoe Marshall.
The historic surroundings of Great Northern Square, Manchester’s first purpose built and designed public square since World War II, will provide the location for the gathering.
“We are excited to be working with 42nd Street to organise this event. Raising awareness around mental health is something we at The Life Centre are passionate about. We hope this event will raise awareness and funds for this great cause and also give people the opportunity to experience the benefits of yoga and meditation for mental health” – Jessie Duncan, Business Manager, The Life Centre North.
‘42nd Street is delighted that The Life Centre have chosen to raise funds for us through such a fantastic public event. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible on the day.
