Have you spotted the new stair art at Great Northern created by the hugely talented Manchester artist Qubek?

His latest creation is to the stairs from Deansgate up to Deansgate Mews, adding some real impact to this entrance to our secret street.
In his own words:
‘I designed this piece but had to freestyle the design when we started as my original sketch was just too time consuming to do. It’s based on the arches of a rainbow being broken up and abstracted.
I turned the arches into legs and feet to also depict the journey people make as they come to and enter this site. We added a few Manchester raindrops in also to abstract the design even more and as we all know, you can’t have a rainbow without rain’
This latest piece from Qubek follows his creation on the stairs from Great Bridgewater Street last year, as part our our commitment to supporting and showcasing local talent at Great Northern.
