Great Northern Warehouse has teamed up with Art Battle Manchester to reveal “OUT OF THE SHED” – to discover Greater Manchester’s artists who rediscovered their creativity during the recent lockdowns. There’s £500 up for grabs too!
Greater Manchester is brimming with artistic talent, but in the last 2 years, a new wave of creativity has emerged within the city. The OUT OF THE SHED exhibition will celebrate people who maybe don’t class themselves as ‘artists’ or ‘arty’ but who have rediscovered a talent and provide them with an opportunity to celebrate and showcase their work.
The submissions will be judged by a panel of established Manchester-based artists including Stan Chow, Qubek , Tracey Cartledge and Stef Trow.
8 lucky winners will have their artwork displayed in the main foyer at Great Northern Warehouse for 12 months. In addition to having their work displayed in one of central Manchester’s high footfall areas, each artist will be awarded prize money of £500 and a support package* to help to propel their budding careers to the next level.
Submissions are encouraged from different genres of art, including but not limited to painting, mosaics, tapestry, illustrations, digital media, photography. The only limitation is the ability to hang artwork on the walls.
Entries must include images of work created in the last 2 years, and a short paragraph telling the story of why they returned to their creative pastimes in no more than 250 words.
Art Battle Manchester, who have been providing a platform for local artists for the last 9 years, will be the official delivery partner for OUT OF THE SHED.
The deadline is 29 July 2022
