This December, the vibrant, playful and nostalgically cool kitchenware brand The Neighbourhood Threat takes over the 24/7 street-level exhibition space at 285 Deansgate.
Free to visit until 6th January, the latest Dez Rez installation showcases work from the trailblazing company, designed by Salford artist Holly Ramsay and inspired by the titular Iggy Pop and David Bowie song.
Holly’s designs have one foot in the 70s – from the Space Age collection to the Kitsch line, the artist blends science fiction with glam rock, animals-at-loose alongside antique curiosities, and colourful caricatures contrasted with floral motifs and fruity prints.
The locally and sustainably sourced brand has built an emphatic following in Manchester and the North West. Bursting out of its Salford studio into an ever-expanding list of style-conscious stockists, The Neighbourhood Threat has gone from strength to strength with a growing reputation around the region and beyond.
Originally based at Islington Mill, the renowned creative hub on the fringe of Ancoats, The Neighbourhood Threat has blossomed into a community of collaborators and creators.
