A collaborative art installation from Amanda Hancock and Grace Collins
Watch This Space, 285 Deansgate 6th May – 6th June 2022
Artists Amanda Hancock and Grace Collins are occupying the Watch this Space window at 285 Deansgate, Manchester, from 6th May to 6th June with an installation artwork derived from Amanda’s project ‘Tracing the Path’, an ongoing project resulting from repeated hour-long local street walks and coming across a ball of blue wool unravelling in the street as if plotting a route.
The installation features suspended etched prints and text and material work by the artists who have been collaborating on this project since September 2021.
Amanda Hancock is a Manchester based artist printmaker who, by exploiting materials and process, takes an experimental approach to making intaglio prints derived from; etching, carborundum, collagraph and screenprint. “I find myself noticing and exploring layers of colour, pattern or texture and making connections, be it a mood or moment re-imagined. With so much to discover, making prints makes me happy!” (@olivegrooveprints)
Grace Collins (they/them) is a participatory artist based in the North West of England, who researches how people work together and documents that to create new artworks about magic, mental health and chairs that sneak in by accident. “I’m an artist that likes to work with other people… so I team up with them and we make art together.
