This weekend, the Great Manchester Run returns to town with thousands of fitness fanatics and fundraisers hitting the sun-drenched streets for a variety of good causes, threading a route through the city which finishes right outside Great Northern!
Whether you’re participating, cheering on a loved one or just there for the vibes, we’ve got you covered for pre-race fuel, prime viewing and post-run celebrations with a wide variety of delicious food, refreshing drinks and even a DJ spinning some triumphant tracks.

For all the runners who manage to complete the route, head to Suki Suki by the finish line and flash your gold medal to get a FREE recovery bao bun. From 12-3pm, our favourite Pan-Asian street food joint is hosting a live DJ who’ll be playing an upbeat mix packed with bangers to keep energy high and the atmosphere buzzing. Check out Suki Suki’s Instagram for more.

Fancy a well-earned indulgence after the race? Stop by Alex’s Bakery and enjoy a cupcake, brownie or hearty sandwich while you get the feeling in your legs back. There’s a sunny outdoor seating area to bask in your achievement, and the quicker you finish, the sweeter the reward – they’re giving away 20 free signature cupcakes to the first 20 runners who show their medal in store!

Over at The Mews, you can unwind and enjoy the weather on the outdoor terrace amidst the lively Deansgate atmosphere while tucking into their famous Sunday Roast with all the trimmings, guaranteeing a perfect end to the afternoon.

Fancy keeping the celebrations going with a bit more energy? Pop into Pong & Puck for a round of games, drinks or even bottomless brunch under the glorious Mancunian sun. Grab a £4 pint, a £5 cocktail or a bottle of prosecco during their Sunday Happy Hour (3-7pm), try out pool, beer pong and shuffleboard, or treat yourself to unlimited drinks and pizza for just £39.

With the city forecast to feel like sunny Spain for the foreseeable, there’s no better time to grab an outdoor table at Evuna and enjoy some sublime authentic tapas and a massive selection of Spanish wine.

Tucked away on Deansgate Mews, Açai & The Tribe is the go-to spot for a refreshing pick-me-up packed with delicious ingredients and vibrant flavour. This popular café is a local favourite, known for its colourful, customisable açai bowls, hearty porridge, and wholesome brunch options. Whether you’re fuelling up before the marathon or just there to soak up the atmosphere and watch the runners go by, it’s the perfect place to recharge.
