World Cup Fever: Where to watch the football at Great Northern

Posted: 22nd November 2022

With the 2022 World Cup in full swing, some of Great Northern’s best bars and restaurants are showing all the England games, as well as the pulsating clashes between other competing nations. Here’s where to catch all the action on the big screen.

Mews Bar are taking bookings for England games, with limited tables available and 2-4-£5 on pints of Pilsner during the match. Email info@themewsmcr.co.uk to secure a spot.

No need to book ahead to watch the boys at Lions Den – just head down to Deansgate Mews early to get a good view, and enjoy the usual unbeatable drinks offers and student discounts all day, every day.

For football with an (initially) elegant twist, head to Impossible Bar to watch England take on all-comers in the group stages and hopefully beyond.

Manchester 235 is screening every minute of every game in their Vega Lounge, one of Manchester’s only truly late-night bars. It’s open daily from 12pm until 6am, and offers an extensive cocktail and food menu perfect for any time of the day or night.

Come and watch the drama unfold on their massive screens and immerse yourself in the fantastic atmosphere thanks to their state-of-the-art surround-sound speaker system.

Add in their array of draught and bottled beers, together with their deliciously tempting sports food menu, and you can really kick off this World Cup in style.

For just £15 per person, you can bag a seat at Pong & Puck to watch England games on the big screen, before either celebrating or commiserating with their range of cocktails, beer/prosecco pong, shuffleboard and more.
